1. Hello and welcome to Tempest Music & More Portal! How are you? Ready to give us some informations?
Thanks for the opening words. The sun in shining and arrived to my 2nd home this morning, ready for the e-mail invasion. The mood is good and there is a little sun. The stereo is turned on first, then the computer, and once we are here, time moves too fast, and then time to go home. But first, we take care of some questions...

2. Who's behind Record Heaven and when did it all started?
Record Heaven have been around for around 25 years, and still going strong. Gone through numerous staff and these days Record Heaven consist of Konrad, Johnny and Annika. Except for being a record label, we are also a distributor and a web-shop, specilalising in proggressive / psych /
stoner / doom / folk / symphonic / avantgarde...all underground music.

3. What's the label's policy concerning its releases?
The most important is of course that we like the music ourselves. And also like to think ourselves as a non-commercial label. So there is no chance we would release anything we do not like, but would sell very good, just to drive around in a Royce Rolls or something like that. We work with worldwide bands, but most is Swedish of course since we are located here.

4. Which are your bands until now and what are you offering them?
In the past we were named Record Heaven Records, but I changed the name 1.5 years ago as I did not want the label to be associated with the releases we did in the past. These days we are much more focused on underground music. Before that it was more melodic hardrock. From the old label I took along LUCIFER WAS, which is a Norweigan heavy symphonic band with blues influences. After that we released a English band called PILGRYM, which was more in the symphonic style. Our 3rd release was a turn as it's retro symphonic / krautrock band called RADIOMOBEL, the first retro release we did. The 4th release is a Swedish band called SKYRON ORCHESTRA, and is again another style, very late 60's psych with farfisa organs and similar to bands like JEFFERSON AIRPLANE and SHOCKING BLUE. After that we did the heaviest band so far SVARTE PAN, which is very much early BLACK SABBATH music with Swedish lyrics, very essential! The 006 was a re-release of the first LUCIFER WAS album which REcord Heaven Records put out 10 years ago, but have been deleted since long. Their heaviest as well. 007 DRAHK VON TRIP is a jam band taking the best out of bands like PORCUPINE TREE, folk music, progressive and art-rock. A very unique band people seem to have a hard time to put a label on. However, they got really good reviews as well,
and have to be heard. 008 FIRST BAND FROMOUTER SPACE. This is heavy spacerock with long tracks and a clear HAWKWIND influence, but doing it much heavier and harder!! 009 CARPET KNIGHTS is another Swedish band who are playing psychedelic progressive, seeing them compared to ANEKDOTEN to PRETTY THINGS and JETHRO TULL, and other one not fitting in any given frame. 010 GRAND
TRICK, this is easy to label as it's pretty much 70's hard rock similar to bands like FREE and THIN LIZZY. This is probably our most "commercial" effort, although, it will never hit any chart, if you understand what I mean??

5. I saw you are dealing with quite strange music. How's the public's reaction so far?
The underground seem to like our releases a lot. We get requests from all over the world, and they also sell quite good for being what they are. But of course, the internet fanzines and underground rave about them, but like all other releases in this genre, the big newspapers and magazines do not care about them. It is simply not selling their work enough. But honestly, I
do not care, as I have no intention to join their money circus.

6. Do you have distribution outside of Sweden too?
We do try our best to have our CDs in all countries and web-shops all over the world, so any citizen can order them, whereever they are located in the world. Although, this is a hard task, because our music is not so mainstream, and our artists do not sell thousand of albums, so we are
often ignored. But we try our very best of course. And we do have good co-operation with several distributors and web-shops around the world.

7. In mid November you'll release Rag I Ryggen's album from back '75. What's the story of this album and what made you decide to release it on CD?
Well, I have seen so many re-issues come by, but never this, which is one of my favourite 70's Swedish albums. This is an incredible fuzz monster, which I am very proud of being a part of a re-release, and have been thrilled about this. As I indicated before, we adore this style of music, and are proud of all our releases!! The story itself is that the band released their album on a dance-label in 1975, but after this album they split up, but kept a reputation of being a solid hardrock band, and closely gained cult-status these days, having their album as one of the crown jewels of the 70's hardrock scene in Scandinavia. The album have for long being a
collectors items, worth quite alot.

8. Which are you plans for the upcoming year?
We are giving 100 % right now on our label, and try and find much quality bands to put out, and there is alot of good bands around today, both from the past and to present. We have RAG I RYGGEN coming in 10 days, after that the 2 first albums from ABRAMIS BRAMA, then we have 2nd albums by
SKYRON ORCHESTRA and FIRST BAND FROM OUTER SPACE. Also, we have the PILGRYM member Andy Wells solo album coming out, as well as another Swedish retro band calling MR. BROWN from 1977 in the schedual. Yesterday we agreed with a Danish band called ORESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE to put out their debut album as well. So we have enough coming, and all these should be out in 1-3 months....

9. Thanks for this short introduction of your label!
Well, thanks for being there and supporting us. The co-operation in the underground is good these days, but it could be much better. Since the big boys won't play with us (and we have no interest), we should play with the small ones instead, and help out each other as much as we can. If anyone like to contact us, please send an e mail to : order@recordheaven.net and for MP3 etc, you can check out www.recordheaven.net
All the best, Johnny & Record Heaven.
