Greetings as well and this is Manila's most hated band Paganfire you are talking to!! Everything is excellent and the weather is driving me insane!! 2. I was convinced to interview you not for your music, but for your attitude towards music. You seem to take thrash metal as it should be taken: dunk and violent. :) If you remember please tell us what bands made you start learning how to handle a guitar. What metal bands where your "first love"? Argh! Many thanks for pointing that out!! Anyway that's what should count most right? Fucking attitude!! All the others must die!! Fuck while I'm answering this interview, I'm listening to Sarcofago's laws of scourge!! Fucking thrash madness!! Hmm as I can remember it was a mix of Metallica, D.R.I. and Agnostic Front. Then from there bands like Kreator, Slayer and Sodom caught my fancy, my first love would be Metallica and Slayer!! 3. Please introduce your band to our readers: its history, releases, most important gigs/fests, previous and actual line-up, how old are you. We are Manila's most hated band!! We were formed back in 1999 with a completely different line-up!! Most important gigs: Tribute To Metallica and Tribute To Kreator, dated 6-19-04 and 11-21-04 respectively!! We organized this shows and no fucking wimp bands ever had the chance to play at our shows!! Fucking faggots!! No wimp bands!! Releases: mabangis! marahas! demo '04, glorious arson promo '05, Apoy NG Kamunduhan VCD. Previous line-up: Krist-Vox, Dennis-Bass/Vox, Jerald-Axe, Nonoy-Axe, Jay-Drums present line-up: Nonoy-Axe/Vox 25, Vro-Bass/Vox 25, Rowell-Axe 21, Jay-Drums 32!! 4. Paganfire is a pretty strange name for a thrash metal band. Did you play some sort of pagan music before? Who thought of this name? Why is that? Some BM bands have thrash sounding names as well!! We don't play anything else but thrash! Dennis though of the name, but for me it stands for the pagan in each of us, and that being a pagan is as universal as being human. All ancient and early civilizations were considered as and are pagans!! 5. Before I said I was not convinced much by your music and that's because there is only one real track of yours on it and the rest are covers. Why didn't you record some new tracks? Is it hard for a metal band inthere to record some tracks? Are there any professional studios in The Phillipines where metal bands are used to record? Haha! Maybe the one I sent to you is the "Glorious Arson" promo cdr. Actually that's the "new" presentation of that track. All our songs which appeared on the 1st demo are pro-done and waiting to be released. Any takers? As we speak we are done recording 2 new songs for our 2nd demo. And they are fucking thrashing hell!! For your 2nd question most bands don't have the attitude and mindset to record their songs. They are all fool and most are just posing scum!! Yes there are good studios with good prices, but then again the bands themselves are not doing what they have to. Pfft!! 6. How's life for a band like yours in The Philippines? Do you have the chance to play live a lot? Ever played out of borders? Pretty isolated and on our own i must say. Besides, who wants to be surrounded by fools anyway? but if you're talking about money and getting famous, that won't happen!! the local music scene only pays attention to bitches with guitars!! And that's not our point also. We are here to get drunk and fucking thrash!! Fuck the mainstream!! a couple of years ago, we indeed played out a lot live, but it just turn out to be tiring and we lost interest in playing for poser kids. Hit. No chance to play outside the Philippines yet. no time, no money and no serious offers yet!! 7. On your demo there's a photo of the band next to Mark from Impetigo and Roy from Trendcrusher 'zine. Are they your close friends? Is Roy still releasing his zine? let me correct you, that's not our demo, that's our 2005 promo! yes, mark and Roy are good friends of ours we drink with them a lot!! Roy's zine is still alive!! It's called trendcrusher zine!! hunt it down or visit his site somewhere in the net!! 8. What reactions have you received from press and public for this demo? Content of the final result? most people who heard our demo liked it, most of them felt what we can deliver. some distros picked up, and some zines paid attention, blah-blah-blah. let's just say that the demo and promo both served their purpose!! 9. How seriously do you take the band and music in general? What's its place in your life? the band is the only thing that drives me sane!! Metal is life!! No fucking metal no fucking life!! 10. What good bands do you listen lately? By the way, what bands from The Phills would you recommend us? Do you have a strong thrash/death/grind scene in your country? Sarcofago, Infernal Majesty, Sabbath (Jap), Sabbath (UK), Holy Terror, Demolition Hammer and Rigor Mortis (USA). The only worthy bands from here are Morloch, Corrupt Insanity, Chamber69 and Incarion. All other bands are mindless cocksuckers!! Fuck 'em!! There is no scene in The Philippines! Just shitty timewasting flukes! 11. Do you have any new tracks? Can you please describe them? When will you release a new demo or maybe the first album? The new songs are all thrash metal!! No grooves no trends!! Just pure thrashing madness!! not necessarily new and not a fucking inch retro!! Why is that? Some BM bands have thrash sounding names as well!! We don't play anything else but thrash! Dennis though of the name, but for me it stands for the pagan in each of us, and that being a pagan is as universal as being human.
