	<< back 1. Greetings! I think this is my first time interviewing a Mexican band, that's why, before we start talking about your band please tell us something about the Mexican scene. Which other bands do you think deserve our attention? GreetingsAA.. I?ll mention some of the best contemporaries? bands in Mexico: HACAVITS, UMBRAE, SOULS ON FIRE, ESTIGIA, DISGORGE, ELFONIA, XIHUTECUTLI, RAPED GOD, SERPENTA, AGORA, PULVERIZED, ARKHE, AEA, SOULS ON FIRE, YATROGENY, ETC. 2. Mortus Poetry is a strange name. Who came with the idea and what does it symbolizes for you? The meaning is about an idea that Mortus is trying to express with his lyrics and his music, desperation, mind crisis, etc. the name was taking of some ideas that had in mind mixing two languages. Mortus: (Dead ? Latin), Poetry: (Poetry ? English) 3. Until now you have 2 demos released by yourselves. Please tell us about both of them: how many tracks, recorded where, which were the responses from both press and public, etc. In the 2003 Mortus recorded a 4 tracks demo called ?ENFER NOIR?, this demo was released independently in all senses, recording, design, publicity, distribution, etc, and it was distributed in promotion way in some cities of Latin America and Mexico, also in 2004 we produced a 6 track demo-cd called ?AMORE MALIGNA? independently produced and distributed in the same way as the previous demo, just this last material was also distributed in some parts of Europe and well reviewed by Spanish, Swedish, American, latin American and a lot of Mexican zines, magazines and webs, this give us a very good projection. 4. How would you characterize your musical style and which bands influenced your music? We auto define Melodic Death Metal, we are very influenced by the ?Gothenburg? scene, the bands that we are influenced the most are: Dark Tranquility, In Flames, Gardenian, At the gates, soilwork, the duskfall, Cipher System, etc. 5. I see you are 5 in the actual line-up, but where's the girl? Or do you use feminine vocals only on recording-sessions? Yes, we just used Daniela (female vocals) in the ?AMORE MALIGNA? recording and released tour, we are 5 in the actual line up. Maybe In the future we?ll use Daniela for recording sessions again, but in this moment we want to keep just male vocals. 6. How's your live-activity until now? How are the gigs and festivals in Mexico? Is there a lot of public for the music you are playing? Ever thought of playing in Europe? Any plans for that? In the ?AMORE MALIGNA? released tour we visit a lot of cities all around Mexico, In early 2005 we were recording our new album, that?s why we haven?t gig a lot, now the new album is in mastering process so we?re programming some gigs in Mexican territory for this and next year also we?re planning with some organizers to visit Latin America and United states. We wish to organize something in Europe but we haven?t received any invitation, we hope to visit Europe soon. 7. OK, it seems that you are now about to finish and release your debut album. What are the new things on it and why do you think it will attract listeners to buy it? We invest a whole year composing and choosing-eliminating the 12 tracks that would be in this album, first we put the album style very clear since the beginning then we star to compose and make arrangements, then we start to record it in a professional studio with a very good audio engineer. This album is the perfect reflect of Mortus Poetry, here we put the best of our feeling and courage, we hope some people feels attract to these things. 8. Did you sign with a label or are you still an independent band? Isn't it hard for you to promote yourselves professionally? Yes it?s very hard to promote by ourselves, we haven?t signed with any label, we want to, so we?ll searching for it, and as soon as the new album finishes we?ll choose the best proposal. 9. What are your lyrics about? Any conceptual stories behind them? We want the people to feel identify with our ideology, the desperation, negativity, desolation of human race these are common topics in our lyrics, this topics are influenced by own nightmares and experiences. 10. In your bio you said the band has its objectives established since the beginning. What are those objectives? To be listened all around the world. 11.
