Kratornas

1. Howdy, Bruno! Welcome to Tempest Music from Romania!
Hello…

2. Please present Kratornas' history to our readers.
Kratornas started as a trio in 1995, but that didn’t last. Maybe because I don’t like meddling with slothful retards, like… the two of them, aha! You could say it’s better to be alone – Yes, it is really better to be alone than be with someone stupid!

3. Why are you, after such a long time the only member in Kratornas? You can't or you won't find other musicians to join you?
No, I’ve spent thinking about having members too but it seems to me that thinking this idea alone is already a complete waste of time. If someone made drums for me, am I obliged to ‘thank’ him?! That’s bullshit! Why the hell I should do that when I’m here doing all these shit all alone for a decade already?! It was like this: If I’m not doing something for the ‘band’, then no one is doing something for the ‘band’ and that’s great! Gratitude is for sheeps! And by the way… yes, I don't have any friends personally and not looking for one either. Of course, it is impossible not to interact because my way of living is to interact with people coming down to the shop everyday but that’s all about it. Interaction is totally different from friendship, you see?! Fuck off to all these bunch of hypocrites telling the world of well… they are these complete ‘misanthropists’, but oh you know, getting drunk with friends is an exception! funny shit!

4. I've read a lot of different definitions to your music style, but how would you characterize it?
I don’t know. That depends on who is listening…

5. It is said that your major influences are old Beherit, Sodom and Blasphemy. Is that true? What are you listening at home and what bands influenced your life the most?
No, I’ve never said that. Maybe Andrew (Parrish) did, heh! I can’t believe you stated them as ‘major influences’ when these bands doesn’t influence me to write any music at all. What a coincidence, for the last part of “Arrant Woe” really sounds like Blasphemy, hooray!! Well… I like ‘Gods of War’ so perhaps, unconsciously, I’ve made something similar(?) or… you tell me! Anyway, I can only speak about my side that this Sodom comparison is nowhere to be found, thank you very much! I don’t have any idea of how well do you know that the bands I’m listening ‘at home’ is different on those with what I’m listening while driving! Ok, but I just love music! Except for country, rap and those recent ‘hit’ singles that any of the common man loves! At home is totally Metal 24/7, mostly Brutal Death and Black Metal. However, I can’t get the picture of you saying about these bands that have ‘influenced’ my life! Is there any? I mean… phew!!

6. Kratornas is now put in the same pot (most blasphemous Asian bands) with names such as: Sabbath, Impiety or Abhorer. Does this thing touch you in anyway? Do you like those bands?
Haha… thank you, but I don’t think I would take that as a ‘compliment’ since I really don't care if who’s who on the map. So… the answer here is no and this statement doesn't touch’ me in anyway. Aside from Abhorer, you are already talking about ‘big’ Asian bands here. Linking Kratornas with this kind of statement is really absurd. If you’re alone in a band, would you like to be as busy as Impiety?! Opinions differ, but my answer is no. Taking band members just to grant a gig is not a valid reason for me to say, yes koz that’s simply stupid! Kratornas started as a project, it should end as a project – that's it!

7. How do you see now the extreme metal scene in Asia? What about the one in the Philipines? Any bands you would recommend us?
Reading your 6th question, it seems to me that you even have better views about the ‘Asian Scene’ than I am, so what the hell?! With regards to ‘the one in the Philippines’, then sorry. It is much that I don’t have any information about it. I started abandoning all of those local contacts I have when 2001 kicks in. It is maybe last 2004 when there’s nothing left like what I really wanted! Now, you want me to ‘recommend’ something: Thailand, they got hundreds of prostitutes to feed you whites, eheh…

8. This year you released a new product, a 7"EP, "Subterranean Sodomies". There are 4 tracks on it. Please present each of them. Will this new effort of yours remain only on vinyl, or it will be released as a CD also?
It doesn’t sell like Coca-Cola, so literally… it is not a product, uh! The summary of these 4 tracks simply falls on serial killing and murder, presenting them one by one is pointless. At the moment, it is out on 7” EP (with this Nunslaughter cover Hell’s Unholy Fire as bonus). For some reason, the MCD version has been delayed since ages! One of the 1st reasons is that the pressing plant refuses to print the booklet as they find it so ‘violent’ and ‘against their culture’… bullshit! I can’t see anything violent with those photos, but well…

Tracklist:
1. Subterranean Sodomies
2. Of Pus and Bonesaw
3. Sadist Trade
4. Earle

Bonus Tracks:
- Hell’s Unholy Fire (Nunslaughter) appeared on the 7” EP version
- Possessed (Bathory) appeared on the MCD version

9. Why did you chose to cover Nunslaughter's "Hell's Unholy Fire"? How would you describe the differences between the original and your cover?
One of the ‘best’ songs Nunslaughter came up with is that song, so?! I don’t have any idea of what’s the ‘differences’ between those two except for the only fact that I don't copy the original note-by-note koz that kind of mentality belongs to babies! I mean, you can still lash on someone’s material by doing it your own way, but don't betray the original…

10. Are the lyrics as intense as on the previous releases? What are they about now?
I am not a poet and I never like poetry. I don’t pay any attention if these lyrics I’ve written doesn’t sound like a book, but that’s alright! I am more into these subliminal messages, not this stupid mumbo-jumbo that any adolescent really likes to flirt with! Lyrics on “Subterranean…” were just this typical (and boring) gore lyrics Cannibal Corpse have done 10 years ago, but so what?! Do things really need to evolve? No. What I like on “Subterranean…” is the whispering voices on the song “Earle”, that’s just amazing, aha!

11. How are you promoting this new product and how are the reactions so far?
There were a lot of great reviews, but of course, you should not expect to please all these bastards one by one. I am not here to entertain people and it’s just a lousy entertainment for you homos, right?! Anyway, I like constructive criticisms after sending out promos but sure, we all have these internet warriors who prefers on giving insults rather than reviews. So from the past 10 years, it is obvious to see that the surrounding did spawn a lot of embryos that is popping out like mushrooms here and there.

12. At the end of this short chat please tell our readers how to contact you and your wishes to Tempest's readers. Thanks for your answers!
If someone wants to trade, at least try to email first before sending anything because there is also a deal with a bunch of whining idiots who send stuffs to you by surprise and when they get nothing in return they’ll start calling you a rip-off! That’s hilarious! Stop praising your own ‘work’ and don't send me that crap koz I am not doing a zine and don’t even ask for it, thank you very much!!

Greetings Adrian and thanks for the interview.
