1. Greetings! Thanks for accepting to talk with us! How are you lately?

D-Very well,thanks.
M-Good, Thank you for having us.

2. Nasu Blue is a strange name for a band. What does it means and where did it came from?

D- It is a strange name. It's actually a combination of nicknames, both which happened under strange circumstances.

3. When was the band formed? Do you consider it a real band or a project?

M- We started NB early spring of this year, so we're still fairly new. There's speculation about whether a two person group can be considered a real band or a project. I consider Nasu Blue to be in fact a serious project as well as a band. Project sounds like something that is taken rather lightly. Nasu Blue is by no means a hobby.

4. Which were the main reasons to form Nasu Blue? Do you have any other musical projects in your backgrounds?

D- Well, both of us were previously in a rock/stage-show/metal band called DizeAzeD, which was quite successful around the Midwest here in the States. Eventually we parted and began working with some other musicians, but we soon found we were best suited to do something on our own. We didn't want to deal with middle ground and tears. We wanted to be happy with what we were doing. Being a duo was not due to a last resort. It was a choice.

5. Can you please tell us some info on you both as persons and as musicians?

D- I'm primarily a drummer. That's what I did in our first band. Macey's primarily a guitarist. We actually have
strong roots to heavy metal despite our sound. I love Peter Criss...he's why I started playing.

M- The biggest fact about us is that we both love Kiss. It's because of them we're musicians. We also owe a lot to the hair bands, and the glam movement. Stuff like L.A. Guns,Marc Bolan,Alice Cooper... we really just like music that's fun and entertaining. Music you don't have to think about.

6. Which are Nasu Blue's main achievements so far?

M- Well, we've been around for seven months. So far we've gotten quite a bit under our belts in that time!
Our music is free through our site,(http://nasublue.tripod.com), so anyone anywhere can request a CD and we'll send it. So far we've recieved requests from a good 3/4th of the States here. We also get a great deal of requests from the U.K., and we have listeners in Mexico,Canada, Australia, and even South America. This morning I went to the post office with music for someone in Texas, someone in Ontario, and for someone in Taiwan! It's amazing the demand, even we were suprised.
And they keep requesting when new stuff comes out so we're really happy about that.

D- We've been breaking into some international Radio too...online radio, and local stuff. 'Dead on the Street' is our international street team, and we're really happy there's people out there interested in helping to promote our work. They've been reviewing us in England and Sweden. And we've been able to reach you all in Romania so that's really great.
It's just the beginning too, so it's defenitely up from here.

7. How would you characterize your music for the ones who don't know the band?

D- It's dark. That's the best way to describe it. But it is meant to be enjoyable. We have a good time making it.

8. How often do you play live? How's a normal/regular gig for you? Do you play mostly in clubs or open-air shows as well?

M- We came from a heavily gigging band so we have much experience in the field. Right now we're making our own music, and doing a bit of networking. Obviously, we have intentions of going live in the future, but for right now we're just now getting into our niche. The future's bright.

9. In your bio there's a statement that you combine the past with the present. Can you explain that?

D- Our influences are a big mixture of the past and present. As Macey said, we like the older rock n' roll stuff but
there's some newer music out there we like too. We can hear it in our sound, but whether anyone else can is another story (laughs).

10. You're an independent band. How come you're still not signed with any label?

M- As previously mentioned, Nasu Blue has not been around for that long. However, signed or not, we're making enough noise that we're starting to reach the world over, and that's a good thing no matter how you look at it.

11. Is the American musical bussiness so "dog eat dog" as we all know it from TV? What's your oppinion on that?

D- On a grand scale for American TV and Radio there's a big 'sink or swim' vibe over here. Bands really have to work hard for what they want, which is really how it should be. But America is strange when it comes to music and entertainment as a whole.

12. How's the musical scene in your area? Can you recommend us any bands/musicians?

D- We enjoy our location, but Indianapolis is not a thriving musical city. Sports are very big here.

13. How do you think your music would be received in Europe if you would do a tour in here?

M- I think Europe in general is more accepting when it comes to the overall style of darker music. America is a bit...stuck. Rock music has a totally different meaning over here. One that we honestly don't find too interesting.

14. What music do you usually listen to at home?

D- We confuse our neighbors. One day it's Tigertailz, and the next it's opera or Dean Martin. We like a lot of European,Spanish...Asian music, but rock n' roll remains prominent.Whatever we're playing nine times out of ten is something from overseas.

M- And not just to try and be hip or what not. We really dig it!

15. Can you tell us some info on your merchandise at the moment?

D- It's the only thing we charge for, and the Style Set comes with a bunch of cool stuff. Along with it is an unreleased single. It's five U.S. Dollars, which is still very cheap no matter where you are!

16. What's the next step in Nasu Blue's career?

M- Currently we are very busy with our first EP entitled 'Somebody Lied' which is coming out on Oct. 27th, just in time for Halloween. It's gonna be free too, and we're really excited about it. There's a lot of hype around this release because it's the first longer CD we've done, and we've now got stations mailing us and listeners anxious to hear it. We're also looking
forward to reaching new listeners!

17. Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions! The last words for this intie are yours. Good luck with the band!

D- We're happy to be a part of the launching of your magazine. Hello to everyone in Romania and best wishes to you!

M- Thanks for having us!
